Things to Watch for
Following a successful rendition of VMworld US in San Francisco, VMworld Europe is only a little more than a month away. This time around, the theme for our security audience will be extending our vision of “Intrinsic Security” pervasively from every work-load to data center to multi-cloud to edge. There will be a heavier emphasis on new product capabilities and you will get a glimpse into features like distributed IDPS (intrusion detection and prevention systems), multi-cloud policy federation, and branch firewalling. Additionally, we will be unveiling Carbon Black integrations designed to enhance server workload protection.

Security Sessions
Earlier this year at the RSA Security Conference VMware introduced the future of internal network and application security, the Service-defined Firewall. In this session, we will explain the concept of “intrinsic security” and introduce you to the industry’s first purpose-built internal firewall designed to mitigate lateral movement of threats in hybrid cloud environments. We will discuss why traditional perimeter firewalls fall short when deployed to secure east-west traffic and protect workloads, and introduce you to the key attributes of the Service-defined Firewall that make it the ideal solution for operationalizing micro-segmentation and internal firewalling.
