vRealize Lifecycle Configuration Manager(LCM) 8.1 brings some exciting new features to help organizations manage their vRealize Suite set of products and ultimately consume and manage their Software-Defined-Datacenter (SDDC). LCM is included in the vRealize Suite and vRA 8.x Standalone set of products. Customers have benefited from the LCM integration into our SDDC portfolio because it simplifies the installation and ongoing maintenance of products like vRealize Automation, vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight and vRealize Network Insight. Lets take a look at some of these new features. If you need a refresher on what LCM can do check out this blog.

vRLCM 8.1 New Features

Certificate Delegation Support – LCM allows for users within LCM to manage certificates via the Locker feature. These certificates are used for the vRealize Suite of products. LCM 8.1 includes a new role called “Certificate Administrator” that can be delegated to users. This role can even be delegated to non-admins in case you do not want the certificate managers to have admin rights to LCM.

Dedicated Multi-tenancy Support – vRealize Automation 8.1 features a new multi-tenant feature that allows administrator to create multiple tenants to carve out infrastructure and create policies that are isolated to a tenant. The multi-tenancy configuration and setup is done in the LCM 8.1 product.

GitHub Integration – Leverage source control for content pipelines with GitHub. This expands our source control story for treating content as code scenarios and creating content pipelines in LCM.

New and Improve UI – Besides some great new features LCM also got a facelift! There is a new UI and better navigation options within the product.

VMware Cloud Foundation Integration – LCM automatically detects VCF/SDDC Manager components to deploy various vRealize Suite products. This unified view to deploy, upgrade and patch vRealize Suite provides ease of use and flexibility for administrators.
